- China faces a resource problem that they are currently handling with fossil fuels which is damaging the environment. Their actions for the future is to find a new way to give out energy but that also doesn't harm the environment. Although the east side of China is very developed, the western area of China is not. In today's seminar professor Zhou had mentioned that the western side of China looked 'very sad' and they want to spread energy over to that side so that not only one side of China looks developed but also do it in a sustainable way via solar energy. By Wanxiang globalizing to help plan for a green future they get to hear ideas from other perspectives on how to change the way China produces energy and spread to areas that don't have power. This also relates to China wanting to join the global force to reduce carbon emissions.

- China's current clean energy challenges are balancing the three main factors of economy, ecology, and energy. This means that they need to find an affordable, environmentally friendly way to produce electricity. This is difficult because of the vast amount of people that China needs to provide energy too. China's sheer population makes it difficult to produce enough electricity without tearing up the land or sea with massive green energy complexes. Their actions for the future include the economic encouragement of green energy solutions via subsidies. Globalization is defined as the process of international integration arising from the exchange of world views, products, ideas, and other concepts of culture. Wanxiang's globalization will help in planning China's green future by encouraging relationships with foreign markets, as well as creating more jobs in China's green energy initiative. This satisfies China's hope of making green energy profitable economically, as well as creating a more unified worldwide approach to green energy (About half of the cars made in America have Wanxiang parts in them). The natural gas plant we visited today only employed 58 people, whereas Wanxiang is a multinational conglomerate. China has a long future ahead of them with green energy, but they are equipped to face their problems.

- China's clean energy challenges involve productivity, cost, and disparity. China is a huge country with a population of over one billion; an obvious challenge is figuring out a way to efficiently deliver power to all of them. China cannot just rely on a single source of clean energy. With China's billion-plus population also comes the challenge of paying for power since not all of China sits on the same level of wealth. China experiences a large wealth gap, mainly between western and eastern China, with western having less. If China were to further expand and develop its clean energy resources, the funding needed to do so would rise and with that would be the cost charged by private enterprises to utilize them for the public. Not everyone in China may be able to afford using something like PV panels so it would be difficult to find a resource that is easily accessible for all of China. However, China has been working on actions for the future to combat these challenges. China has expanded their use of clean energy, as seen through Wanxiang's production of PV panels along with their previous production of green vehicle parts. Wanxiang has even bought Fiskar and begun the production of electric and hybrid vehicles in order to encourage the public to lower their CO2 emissions. Wanxiang plans to push the use of electric vehicles in China by making their car appear more consumer friendly. China has also taken advantage of their numerous rivers and created multiple dams to produce hydroelectric power sources.

- China's clean energy challenges includes the climate change, the increase usage of fossil fuels, the expensive price of solar energy technology, and the low efficiency rate of solar technologies. Specifically for solar energy technology, the challenges include: disperse of energy, restriction due to natural conditions, low conversion efficiency, and the high cost. However the plans for the future of the solar technology low conversion efficiency is that scientists today are researching to try to make it more efficient to use. China's actions for the future is to distribute solar energy resources in China so that it is not only located in Eastern China. China has also created policies regarding clean energy. In 2006 they created a policy titled, "China's Renewable Energy Law" and in 2009, the USA and China both signed an agreement called "US-China Energy Research Project."
In order to help plan for China's green future, WanXiang is trying to globalize their electro-vehicles, electro-buses, and their Li-ion batteries. WanXiang will be releasing their EV, Karma, in the fall of 2016. They also have another EV called Model S made by Tesla Motors. The Model S does not use a single drop of gasoline, Tesla electric motors have only one moving rotor piece. The EV gains its electric power from solar power, another reason why the car does not give out pollution.

- China currently faces a very large pollution problem. China is one of the world's biggest CO2 emitters. With such a high amount of people using everything from cars to everyday electricity, the country has trouble keeping its carbon footprint small. The effects of this can be seen very easily in cities such as Beijing where the pollution can be so bad that on some days you can't see the sky clearly due to the air quality. China has already begun to combat this issue by encouraging the use of electric cars and solar panels. The Chinese government offers subsidies for people who purchase electric cars. Solar panels can also be seen very often on chinese rooftops. Wanxiang's globalization can help by spreading their products around the planet. This makes it easier for consumers to find environment friendly vehicles. With more people driving cars like this, less CO2 will be released into the air.

- Since China opened its door it has been a rapidly growing country developing into a world power. China has been recently moving into the green energy field developing new technology and policies. China then established a policy in 2006 that helped jumpstart the green energy space. However, China is facing many problems in this space. One problem is how to balance the three "e" triangle which is made up ecology, economic, and energy. Government officials are still trying to figure which policy is the best to implement for China. If they find the right balance of all three of these things then a successful nation of green energy will develop. They also are facing a very large amounts of CO2 emissions that are harming the environment which can then affect agricultural products. However, there are groups such as Wanxiang that are being created to make green energy a new technology in China. Wanxiang globalization will not only help China in becoming a green energy giant but expanding to other countries such as the Untied States will help build strong political and economic that can help in the future. Wanxiang can also become a major influence in the Chinese government by showing the government that investing in green energy is actually a very important and effective idea. The Wanxiang company also can teach the public that investing in green energy and working for a green energy company can help boast the national economy. Overall, even though green energy has some problems and challenges it's the most beneficial energy source for China.

- In the recent years, China's sky has all but disappeared under a thick smog and the air has become nearly unbreathable. As both domestic and foreign enterprises set up more and more factories, pollution has become an increasingly large issue. While many efforts are being made by the government and private businesses to combat this problem, some of China's clean energy challenges are energy demand, cost, and the economy.
Due to China's large population, and despite the limited child policy, energy is in high demand. This pressing matter contributes to the increasingly high cost of production and the deterioration of the environment. The use of fossil fuels is both expensive and deleterious to the economy. The rivers and air quality has become overly polluted due to the excessive use of fossil fuels. To combat these issues, Wanxiang has turned to exploring solar, wind, and hydroelectric alternative energies as well as electric cars. 万向帮助中国的环境。

- China faces many challenges when trying to transfer over to green energy. China's booming population makes it difficult to meet all the needs of the people. In fact, many people are left in the dust when it comes to supplying energy. Many of the people living in the west have no electricity. They lack in heating and clean water. This is why the two child policy will come in handy by reducing the population.
Wanxiang investing in renewable energy can be helpful for keeping the environment unharmed. Also it will be easier to supply in the west. China has 20 of the most polluted cities. This is why it is very important for China to clean up their act.
Wanxiang's globalization will be helpful by spreading the word of renewable energy. And it will help replace cars that use fossil fuels with electric cars.
Adeduni Folarin
- China faces many issues when it comes to the demand for clean energy. With a growing population and an ever increasing need for an energy supply, China must find a sustainable way towards a greener tomorrow. China faces challenges when it comes to reducing CO2 emissions. To be able to sustain the current energy trends China needs to start diverting funds towards the growth of green energy so that pollution within the country can decrease. China plans on expanding their green energy supplies and concentrating on solar in the west and investing in wind offshore in the east. Wanxiang is making a huge effort in investing in the efficiency of car batteries. Once research has decreased the cost of electric cars, there will be more incentive for people to buy cars and CO2 emissions will decline. The research by Wanxiang Group will lead to a better future for all.

- China is facing severe energy crises currently. All one has to do is look at the smog-engulfed skyline of Beijing and wonder if one day, the area will become uninhabitable. There are ways to prevent pollution from crippling the Chinese economy and ecosystem. For far too long, fossil fuels such as oil and gasoline have become the staple of nearly every motorized vehicle available to buy. However, there are various alternatives that can and will slow pollution and allow for the conservation of precious fossil fuels needed to power our '01 Honda Civics. These include wind, water, and sun energy. Wanxiang is making steps to reduce toxic emissions, and allow for cheaper, cleaner forms of renewable energy. With devices such as a solar water heater, which I've seen installed on top of nearly every apartment building as I've been driven through Hangzhou. Large scale solar farms seem to be the best solution for replacing gasoline, coal, and oil. In an earth where thrre are numerous deserts and places that are sunny quite often, this is an opportunity to be taken advantage of, and to sieze as a newfound solution. Wanxiang is already doing well do to the solar panels placed atop its buildings, and its focus on clean and renewable energy. It's enthusiasm for solar energy will help it globally, as more people begin to realize the need to equally distribute energy for not just cities, but farms and small towns, small settlements, and to make it clean and not harm the natural environment in which they live. 我保额里俄万象是很好。

- China currently doesn’t have the resources to produce enough energy for its rapidly growing population. There is also an unequal distribution of energy throughout the east and west China. There are plans to build nuclear energy systems that are much cleaner than current options as well as much more efficient, but they were put on hold after the Fukashima meltdown. WanXIang’s globalization will allow certain unskilled labor jobs to be outsourced bringing jobs to other countries, and make products of those jobs less expensive. This will in turn allow for products that help make things like solar panels less expensive, then making the product itself less expensive.
David King
- China clean energy challenges that they face is that China is one of the most producing of greenhouse gases in the world. China can see the effects as thy have acid rain, poor air quality, home to some of the most polluted water in the world, and have towns where the soil and water are so bad they are called cancer towns as many people contract cancer. Fossil fuel dominated China as many used it for energy and now recently China made factories closed sot by don't produce green house gases. Many of their actions are developing solar panels, wind turbines, and to develop more clean alternate energies. The challenges they face is that the green energy are not efficient compared to fossil fuel and so for them to find ways of using green energy they need to find ways to make them more efficient and Wanxiang is helping. They are producing solar panels, and electric cars in hope to reduce co2 emissions.
Zachary Kruger
- Currently China's main source of energy for factories and automobiles comes from fossil fuels. An example of these fossil fuels is coal, otherwise known as "Black Gold". This source of energy contributes to close to a fourth of the worlds carbon emissions and is polluting China massively. This challenge seems to be unbeatable, although China has planned to increase their renewable energy resources in the last few years. An example of these attempts is the auto part company Wanxiang. They are producing renewable energy products such as electric motors, and solar panels that cut down on carbon emission. Wanxiangs products such as the new fisker karma car, which can be run solely on electricity and includes a solar panel to charge the battery. Wanxiang will help globally by reducing pollution that contributes to problems like acid rain, polluted air, and cancer villages located near polluted cities and waterways. These are some solutions to China's green energy problems.

- At the moment, China feels the effects of pollution throughout the country. The skies are hidden by smog, the rivers and lakes are full of trash, and the streets are dirty. For decades, fossil fuels have dominated the supply of energy to China and the rest of the world. If the usage of coal, gas, and oil continues to spread, China will become an uninhabitable wasteland. However, alternatives have recently arose, including solar, wind, and hydro powered energy. I have noticed solar panels covering the roofs of almost every apartment throughout China, reducing the need for fossil fuels. The Chinese government has been building dams to power turbines throughout the country. Both onshore and offshore wind farms are being established throughout China to reduce emissions by reducing the demand for fossil fuels. Wanxiang is also contributing to the nationwide effort to go green by leading innovation in electrical vehicles. Motor vehicles are a major contributor to carbon dioxide emissions at the moment. By obtaining Fiskar motors, Wanxiang has put itself directly in the electric vehicle market. Electric vehicles have no carbon footprint and will help reduce the need for fossil fuels. In addition, Wanxiang is a major proponent of solar energy. They have installed large-scale solar farms throughout the world, and have plans to install more in western China. Wanxiang has also installed solar panels on the roof of all of their buildings. 我觉得中国的将来乐观的。

- Today, China is faced with this never ending cloud of widespread pollution. Acting on a large scale integration of clean energy would be quite the challenge for the large and developing China. With the increasing population, China's gas emissions continue to rise in parallel. The pollution problem not only lies within the air but the water. The emissions from cars indefinitely contribute to the pollution of water, but it is also the extraction process of natural gas, a "clean energy source" that harms the environment. This process called "fracking" involves digging into the earth to extract the natural gas yet it puts so many unknown and classified (at least in the US) chemicals that pollute the surrounding water sources and slowing harming the locals that use that water for everyday things. The extraction of natural gas is mainly done in the Western part of China affecting the rural communities there. The plan is to utilize more eco-friendly methods to use renewable energy and lift this smog off of China in which would take a very long time, but the only way to do that is to directly switch sources of energy from gas to electric and make the majority of China use these new innovations such as the electric car that WanXiang Corp. is already developing and the establishment of the worldwide market for the solar panels. With WanXiang investments they have created a world market and have boosted not only their profits but China's economy. WanXiang America is an example of the globalization along with the several other manufacturing plants established all over the world. With all these international relations, WanXiang has more power and money to innovate and expand, thinking of more ideas for green energy and making China, and the World a better place.

- China is in a state of development and in the shift of becoming a modern society. With this shift into modernization, China is contributing a vast amount of pollutants into the atmosphere. This issue has resulted in a great majority of China's skies to be covered by smog. China has now realized this increasing issue and has begun reforms for clean energy. China encounters the other issues of the uneven distribution of wealth in the country. This could be an issue because western China would not have as great access to the alternative energies while eastern China does. In the future, China has plans to increase the green energy consumption as to combat the issue of pollution. Wanxiang is creating green energy vehicle parts. This is beneficial for China's green energy future because Wanxiang is planning on expanding the electric vehicle consumption in China and around the world. Wanxiang is looking to expand the worlds green energy efforts to allow for the worlds pollution output to decrease.
Raymond Pham
- China's clean energy challenges are mostly dependent on lack of affordable technology. For example if they want to try solar power a challenge would be to make cheaper or more efficient solar panels. If executed correctly the future of China will be better since it creates jobs in the western part of China and it gives them electricity which may boost their standard of living. Wanxiang's batteries can be used to store the power that are stored from the solar panels. This could help with china's greener cleaner future.
Sammantha Ponsell
- China has many obstacles to overcome in its goal of clean sustainable energy. As a nation, the public remains apprehensive to nuclear power because of the dangerous repercussions of a fall out. Solar and wind energy are not as efficient nor cost effective raising many questions about what might be left for an effective renewable energy plan for china. The answer is complex. My answer is education. The transfer from traditional sources to renewable will take time so it is important that the younger generations are trained and prepared to implement these new methods. In additions further education and research will enable the industries to become more efficient and cost effective. Continuing the subsidies on clean energy will be keen to preparing companies and the public for a complete transition. It will also change the lifestyle of the nation, making everyone more environmentally aware. Wanxiang's globalization is just another step to fomenting china's clean energy products. International cooperation on projects will increase the world's productivity in reversing the green house effect. Technology will undoubtedly improve faster and aid all countries. Developed or otherwise.
Izaak Rodriguez
- The biggest challenge facing China as well as other countries developing in green energy solutions is to advance technology and consumption of products while continuing to maintain the three branches of renewable energy: ecology, economy, and of course, energy. Wanxiang's globalization of renewable energy solutions and business is important because it will help to set the course for the world's transition to green energy through the communication of ideas and products. It is crucial that other nations follow suit concerning green technology. This is because the more people that begin to use these products, the cheaper and more accessible they will become, and the bigger the difference the green energy movement will have on reducing dependence on fossil fuels and diminishing negative effects on our environment.
Noah Rossi
- China has many challenges with energy. For example, China has more than 65% of their max demand in power generation capability. However, China is subsidizing companies that install solar and other green technologies. The 3 Gorges Dam is one way China is moving towards a green future. The main challenge is that China is also facing growing energy demand, so they must outpace the growing the demand with more clean energy solutions. To have an emission-free world, we must either switch to EVs (electric vehicles) or another clean transportation technology. Wanxiang is helping with this because they make EVs and fully electric buses.
Megan Shockley
- China's challenge with green energy is finding cost-efficient energy, that is sustainable for China's future. It is necessary to have a balance between the economy, environment, and efficiency of energy. Right now the efficient sources are not often good for the environment, methods such as coal, and oil. However environmentally-friendly energy is not efficient enough yet and is very expensive. Therefore, the market of this energy is very limited. The ideas of making the battery-powered bus and car are very good ideas and need to be made to cheaper and more readily available to the public. Once the public, everyday citizens can buy a battery-fueled car, the air and streets will become less polluted. In addition, the government support and push for a cleaner China will benefit this movement for clean energy. For example, China is already the number 1 leader for the number of wind farms installed its country.
Wanxiang can and will continue to play a large role in China's green future. As Wanxiang globalizes across the world, other countries will start to do their own research. As other countries make improvements and new advancements on green energy equipment and methods, China can follow there advancement and will have an incentive or competition to continue there work on green energy.
Lawson Shultz
- China's clean energy challenges include reducing pollution and maintaining enough energy for its growing economy and large population. Coal and oil energy plants are the leading contributors to China’s pollution. Fracking and processing has lead to water, soil, and air pollution. Using renewable energy sources appear as obvious alternatives. Solar, wind, hydroelectric, nuclear, etc. emit little to no pollution. But of course, the challenge of ending pollution are not as simple or obvious as converting to renewable energy sources. For one, it is expensive to build the solar panels, wind turbines, dams, nuclear power plants, or the other sources that are necessary to collect energy. If investors put their money towards renewable energy sources, that money then is no longer being invested into products that could help the economy grow. In addition, building renewable energy sites takes time.
To support the current population of around 1.4 million, China needs a lot of energy, so reducing the amount of energy consumed to reduce pollution is not a realistic option.
Wanxiang’s globalization, including the multiple locations in the United States and communication with officials from many countries, provides access to more information and ideas. Technology from other countries can be shared and benefit both parties.
Cazuree Smith
- Pollution and climate change are challenges that China face when it comes to clean energy. The future plans are to transfer to clean energy. They will plant more wind turbines and use more solar panels. Wanxiang's globalization will help because they are working on moving away from gas and switching to electric vehicles. This is helping China because Electric Cars and buses will save money. If there is more money then China can afford to offer people more jobs to build solar panels and wind turbines.
Dara Spavlik
- China faces a lot of clean energy challenges considering its size and population. Some of the challenges China faces is being able to provide everyone with a clean energy source. China being the industry country of almost all other countries, has many factories and private businesses that produce a lot of pollution. China has the challenge of reducing that pollution while also encouraging their fast growing economy. Also the amount of people living in China's major cities takes a toll on the air quality because there are so many running cars and other motor vehicles. Currently almost all China's factories run on coal as their main energy source. Coal emits CO2, adding more pollution to the air thus, making the air quality worse. Wanxiang being a green energy company is working to better China by reducing the pollution given off by cars by making cars that run off of solar power. But Wanxiang is also giving people what they want, a dependable and long lasting car. China has already started their green energy plans and has made a lot of good advancements to better their environment. They have the biggest wind farm in the world and has been increasingly spending more and more on green energy. China's green future doesn't come easy as many of the green energy sources they are adding and putting money into aren't as efficient as the normal fossil fuels. Also the green energy movement isn't going to come cheap. Many of the alternative sources very in price and can be expensive, that can take a toll on the economy and could be bad for China's fragile economy.
Rachel Spruill
- China's green energy challenges are a huge population, modernization, and disparity of wealth among the nation. They have to balance economy, ecology, and energy, which is nearly impossible since each theme affects each other. China is taking actions against this issue by increasing research & development in renewable energy and making a solution a reality. The nation is increasing in solar panel usage, along with wind power and hydroelectricity. We visited Wanxiang, where they create vehicles powered with solar technology. Plus, the building itself is powered by solar panels on the roof. The globalization of Wanxiang is also helping the cause of green energy. As their franchises increase and expand worldwide, their ideas influence international energy.
Benjamin Stauff
- The main issue preventing China from becoming "green" is their massive demand for energy. Even using massive amounts of fossil fuels, their entire populous does not receive a standard level of energy for a developed country, and while this is due more so to a lack of infrastructure in Western China, but this fact only makes the issue larger. At present, China is attempting to solve this problem by expanding its nuclear and renewable energy generation, increasing its energy supply without increasing its pollution. Among the primary pieces of this solution is the researching and innovation of renewable energy sources. This is where WanXiang's globalization comes in. By participating in cooperative research initiatives, WanXiang can quickly advance their research, and reinforce their company with the purchase of foreign businesses. Not only this, but WanXiang's presence in the global market increases competition both against itself and other companies, leading to an increase in product quality across the board, improving not only China, but the world as a whole.
Lauren Thornberg
- As one of the world's fastest-growing countries, China faces many challenges in the coming decades regarding energy consumption and production. It's predicted that 50% of the growth in energy use through 2035 will be attributed to China and India, and as China's population increases, the need for renewable energy becomes more important than ever. China will struggle to provide the energy necessary for its people unless it starts investing in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, and nuclear. A large problem that can inadvertently be solved by use of renewable energy is the disparity of wealth between western and eastern China. By outsourcing energy production to the rural, poorer areas in western provinces, jobs can be created and the economy that was formerly agrarian can improve. This shift will also provide power to people in rural areas who, even to this day, can be living without power. Western areas are arid and receive a lot of sunlight, making them the ideal areas for solar power facilities. However, the need for renewable energy is not just a smart economic choice, it's a smart environmental choice. At this current moment, the Chinese government invests about USD $75-100 billion in renewable energy each year. All this money inadvertently goes towards preventing ecological disasters that are caused by other energy sources - pollution and carbon emissions. Solar, wind, and hydroelectric power produce almost no carbon emissions, if any at all. Since China is known for its pollution (China has 20 of the 30 most polluted cities in the world), this step towards green energy can reduce pollution and greatly aid the beautiful Chinese environment. Wanxiang's globalization will further this mission of pollution-free energy sourcing. Wanxiang's commitment to green energy, when spread globally, could make a real difference. I hope to see a day when electric cars are a normal commodity, and electric busses fill the streets of China and dozens of other countries. The production of solar panels could make power inexpensive for people in the poorest areas of the world. These scientific advancements place Wanxiang as one of the most important international companies in this day and age.
Vasista Vovveti
- China's clean energy challenges include inefficiencies in current available technology and a high cost of installation in rural areas due to a lack of extensive training in the maintenance of renewable energy power generators. China wants to overcome these challenges with improved training and more research and development in the solar panel and battery industries. WanXiang's globalization will help in planning China's green future by supplying China with new technologies developed by foreign countries and with new management techniques.
